Welfare is supposed to help people in need for a short period of time. Our tax dollars are supporting the same people year after year. We need to stop this ASAP. HOW??

Why ? Very simple. Certain politicians benefit from having
people dependent upon the government. They look like a hero to these people when they support entitlement programs, and then retain their positions by virtue of these
"held down" people voting for them. For these politicians,
there is no incentive to forceably remove some of these leeches from the government teat.
The only way to stop it is to help ensure that these particular
politicos are not re-elected.

I thought is stopped with the Welfare Reform Act in 1996. This gave them a lifetime maximum of 5 years and only two years of assistance at a time. Maybe some people were grandfathered. Also, the states control it now by money given to them from the federal government.

Please stop generalizing. I'm a Dem and do NOT believe in long term welfare, especially for women (with the no good men) who just keep cranking out the kids. With all the downsizing and such going on, short term welfare has its place, but year after year? NO WAY.
I've never taken a dime, but I hear really awful stories of families who just had bad things happen by no fault of their own. The Christian thing to do is help these people out. It amazes me how many rightwingers and Republicans who profess to be Christians would sooner spit on these people than give a helping hand. You lip servicing hypocrits will wind up in HELL.

many people WHO have kid and need welfare and food stamp but these young women is the one need to get off of welfare and get a job and these lazy men who help get these children need to be a man and get areal job and take care of their babies not the system. some people need help and some just using welfare as a crunch not to get a job and alto of these women having all these babies to get on welfare to instead of these men get out and take care their Base they rather take care a sorry ma nit's alto of people having all these kids and don't want to take care of them. And Mexican come from the other country and get everything free and don't have to pay taxes and alto of people been over here all their life and can't get help they the INS who really need welfare and not only black, white and various of race is on welfare.

In one word ... Democrats. Keeping people on welfare for generation after generation keeps them on a tight, government controlled leash. It's much easier to control people who are depending on you for the roof over their heads, the food on their tables and their medical care. It's kind of like keeping them infanticized.

Vote for a republican. Preferably one who knows how to control spending and limit over the top social programs. Id choose Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter.
