Cactus.
You can also make a diagram and show the temperatures during the year, humidity, terrain extension, etc...

Do a google search of plants and animals of the desert. There are spiders, cactus, burros, birds, rock formations, sand dunes, flowers, those thingees like Geckos and Ghildamonsters, what are they called???? Iguanas!!!!!

lizards u can get in the party section at walmart sand like brown sugar? with glue cactus? u could make out of clay
there really isnt much in the desert camel google it srry i hope this helps

little bones and insects glued on it with a hot glue gun would look pretty kool. tell them how many deserts came to be because fools cut down all the trees. no trees, then erosion, then parched earth, and then wind blows it around until only hot sand remains.

Did you get the assignment yesterday? I am guessing not.
Don't they teach "desert region" stuff in 5th/6th grade? Why do they teach it again in 10 grade?
