No, I don't want a reference to anything Ron Paul has won. To put it simply, I don't care.

They're not a bad idea, but they way they're run is wrong. The Iowa Straw Poll, for instance, is open to anyone from any state, so long as they've paid a fee. So it's really a contest of who has the most to spend and wants to spend the most. Candidates bus people in from different states, pay their fee, and get their vote. So it's not really a measure of how many people in a particular state like this candidate or that candidate.

GW Bush won the Iowa Straw Poll in 2000, and was coronated by the media as the 'next president 'right then and there.

Other kinds of straw poll are unscientific, with samples that are self-selecting. Like if Fox News had a poll, you'd be surprised if the Democrats won. 8^)

I am not sure, but I would not want to touch their support with a straw pole.

No. Polls are unscientific and meaningless. You can lie to a pollster but you vote your truth on Election day.

It's a good way to get us used to the idea of who is going to win, so we're not startled at the end.

Go Hillary or Giuliani!
