I detect a hint of resentment in your question and how you framed Barack Obama's name. On Oct.30 Tim Russert asked Hillary did she support NY Governor's Speitzer's proposal to give NY illegal immigrants a special driver's license. Hillary mumbled and fumbled her way to a convoluted answer which showed no commitment to a straight YES or NO answer. When Obama responded to Hillary's fumbled answer Russert asked Obama did he support NY Governor's Speitzer's proposal and he said YES. He stated it was a matter of public safety to have people untrained and undocumented driving on the nation's highways.

I understand and admire his truthfulness on this issue but do disagree with him. Is America really going to actively get resources and funding to go after 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants to capture and deport them? I think not. The think illegal immigrants should pay a decent fee, learn English and be place on a path to citizenship that is slower than that of legal immigrants. But better border control has to be implemented before we can talk of how we handle the illegal immigration population that is already in the US. That's the fairest and most humane way to proceed.

I wasn't taught to put my hand over my heart during the anthem. Only the pledge, so I don't know where that came from. I was taught to stand for the anthem or the American flag.

I must admit I don't know what the candidates' stances are. I'll have to do the research. But I just wanted to say that both parties are weak on this issue. The Right says the Left wants them here for votes (illegals can't VOTE!) and the Left says the Right wants the illegals here for cheap labor so they don't have to pay a decent wage for the jobs "that Americans don't want". It's a toss up, but the cheap labor makes more sense.

No licenses, no documentation until they pay the piper. They must go through the proper channels. We already have the laws on the books. No amnesty. No special treatment.

McCain needs the fence. severe, extensive, and rapid. He needs all and sundry deported. Obama and Clinton choose for amnesty once you pay a very good, study English, and get in line. Obama and Clinton selection on well-being look after unlawful immigrants. Clinton needs to conceal them, yet Obama does no longer.

About the same as Bush, Rudy, Romney and McCain. Rudy, Romney claim they have changed their position but I doubt it.
