I don't think she did succeed. In fact, it illustrated her avoidance of answering a question straight on, which at least Obama has pointed out more than once. I kind of understand where she was coming from, I think, with her answer since on the one hand if they're illegal, they shouldn't get a driver's license but on the other hand, if they're getting training to drive, it's better than so many just getting in a car without training and it will, then, serve to document these people.
Bill was a master at not answering questions and getting away with it. He had a charm or something that Hillary just doesn't have. It worked for him, but it's only hurting her and Obama and Edwards are starting to go after her on this. Voters notice it more than they did with Bill, too, I think. I think it's going to hurt her in the long run more than it helps her.

She played the boss politico by at first attempting to defend a major ally in Gov. Spitzer - who may be a potential member of her cabinet if she gains the presidency. But it actually showed that she is so out-of-touch with the strong opinions of the majority of residents in New York to make her blabbering very laughable.
It also clearly demonstrated that Clinton will try to defend friends by any means...even when it is bad policy. Simply proves that no matter what she says, her philosophy is a beltway-inspired business as usual amongst politicians, no matter what the people loudly say.

Not very well at all. When it comes to talking out of both sides of her mouth, she's not quite as polished as Bubba is. Now THERE'S a real pro!! He can look you in the eye, tell you several lies, wag his finger, sniff, and you could swear he was telling the truth. Hillary needs lessons from the master of deception, Billy Boy.

She didn't succeed...at all.
I was thrilled because Chris Dodd did a great job and Hillary is a huge competitor.
Hopefully his ratings have gone up since; I'm sure they have.

Well, there are two points of view:
The only requirement should be the ability to drive;
& the lack of any criminal convictions.
The problem, is that driver's licenses are used for ID.
The proposed solution would be a driving only license.

We'll see after the primaries, and then only if she survives the (just as evil) angry white assassins that will try to keep her from taking the oath.

Not successful at all! I loved it when John Edwards called her on it! She still never really answered it during the debate.

She didn't. The way her machine handled it was a train wreck in slow motion.

Not well. She danced around question and was widely criticized for it.
