What's the difference? I honestly don't know what each of the parties do and i hear people talk about how the other party sucks... can sombody explain what a Republican and a democrat is? Thanx

Some issues change from election to election but these are the core positions:
Republicans believe that a free market can provide almost everything that a civilization needs in the most efficient manner possible, and the government should stay out of its way. Many republicans also believe in Social Darwinism, in which the poor, ill, and elderly should suffer the consequences of their condition without assistance as a way of strengthening society and serving as a example for others.
Democrats believe that unrestrained capitalism has caused great harm on society in the past and business needs to be held to responsibility by laws, much the same as people. They believe that because the disparity of power between a corporation, or great wealth, and an individual worker is so great, the government must protect the interests of the individual.

Well just defining one as a rep or a dem doesn't really come what one stands for. Unfortunately both parties have been taken over by the far left or the far right. Which is a liberal or a conservitive. Than you even have socialists, or neocons. Most of the people in the country will agree with many things that both parties have. These are moderates.

Democrats are pro choice ( The woman has the right to choose ) . Democrats developed social security . Democrats tend to lean towards helping the working class . Large government ( Can a government too small do the job ??) They think wealthy and big business don't pay a fair share . etc..

Republican Mac person right here (and unique flower baby!). Republican Mac person with my BIL Republican Mac person with my Sis Democratic Mac person with my hubby (never a flower baby) 4 different Democratics in the relatives use computer Six different Republicans in the relatives use Mac One Independant makes use of a computer
