I've had sex with only 1 guy, and probably 10 times or less. I've noticed that my vaginal "lip" for lack of better words is beginning to darken. The left side of the lower part around the opening is really dark, and the left side of the left "lip" is getting dark too.. not black, but close, and only on the left side. Even near my clitoris is darkening! Why??? Is this normal or is something wrong? Is there anything I can do to make the color come back? I know my boyfriend has no stds.. he's been checked. Mature adult answers only please!!

Honey there is nothing wrong with you. That's just what they look like... When stimulated sometimes they may turn a little pink (due to the blood circulation). This does not mean you have an STD. The skin around that area does not receive enough blood normally for it to stay pink You probably just did not notice before because you were not worried about it.

Hmm... well, is it possible that he handled something that you're allergic to, before touching your goodies? Or it could just be some kind of irritant, rather than an allergy (hot peppers, for instance, can be very irritating). I'd say wash up with some mild soap and cool water, and perhaps try some cortisone cream. If it doesn't clear up or start to get better very quickly, you'll need to see a doctor, so you'll probably have to break down and tell mom, sorry. Hopefully it will be ok with the above advice. Oh, if you think it's an allergic reaction, you could take a benadryl, that would probably help as well. That's all the advice I've got, as I don't really have any personal experience with this. Good luck!

Calm down because these people are just messing with you. I actually haven't heard of any STDs that cause a darkening of the vagina, much less would I assume it's a sign of some huge problem. And yeah, I've seen dark vaginas, there's nothing wrong with that. You should probably just go to a doctor to clear your head of any doubt that something is wrong with you, but if reading all the NICE people's answers calms you down enough then I wouldn't bother.

Don't worry at all its normal thing it come and go no need to worry. You are perfectly fine but just a one tip i will give you before and after intercourse always wash the area with anti bacterial but still there s nothing to worry about the color.
1. The reason could be excessive use of hair removal cream or shaving otherwise you are perfect.
or
2. Unless you did not feel any pain or any itching or bleeding thing theres no worry. As its a sensitive area and whatever happen to that response quickly in the sence of pain if you dont feel any discharge ot any above mentioned symptoms then you are ok
Have a great night

If you and your vagina are real, go and find a decent site which doesn't offer "points" for answering. But, really, I wouldn't worry about darkening of your - labia (nice word, I think) - unless it's really changed an awful lot - but if you are worried - why not go and see a doctor? Unless you are quite young and don't feel you can. In which case, what you are probably seeing is simply the maturing of your genitalia. But, if in doubt, GO AND SEE A DOCTOR. They've all done it and been there, you know.

Vaginal lips and nipples darken when a woman becomes pregnant and remain dark for the rest of her life. Old age causes it too!

Yes, doctor time. I can't think of any reason for it to 'darken' at all. Maybe the friction has something to do with it and the increase in blood flow from having intercourse..I dunno but any questions 'down there' should be answered by a medical professional. Or at least call the doctors office and just ask if it's a reason to go in...so you get some form of relief.

well, maybe your body is maturing. Are you SURE your partner has been checked for std's? don't just go on his word, if you are worried, check it out! Especially if you itchy, or if there is redness. I say go to the doctor and get it checked if you are worried. ALWAYS USE A CONDOM!! IT isn't 100% safe, but it is safer! If you have been using condoms maybe you are having a reaction to latex..some people are allergic to it.
Good luck, and try not to panick, our bodies are in constant change and do things we don't expect it to do!!

I am 42 years old so I can give a decent answer.
I heard lips get darker when the woman is sexually excited.
I think sometimes they are less dark. Ask a gynocologist.

I noticed my vaginal area turning darker through the years. But I'd still check with my physician to get a correct answer to this.
