The Jews were a minority living in Germany at a time when Germany's economy totally crashed. They were actually living better than many everyday Germans, and since they kind of stuck together and helped their own, anger started to foment, of course among the less sensitive, struggling sectors of German society, so when Hitler came along with his nationalism and promises to restore German pride, etc. people followed along, even to the point of scapegoating, bullying, and exterminating the Jews.

After WW 1, Europe went through a bad depression, (the price of bread went up so fast, people were poor.)
The Jewish community had faced similar problems before and came through better than most. So Germans without were envious of those with.
There is a lot more to it than that, and no reason was a good enough excuse to punish even one person with death.

Official to Nazi policy. The Jews were the cause of many of Germanys issues, and they were the conspirators in a slow but steady increase and gain of power behind the scenes.

It was a self-declared crusade to end that and 'purify' the world of Jewish conspiracy. They often spouted the ten commandments of Zion and the likes, but it's nothing that advanced really. Really it was just Hitler who was abused by his father who was of Jewish persuasion, and by the leader of the party that Hitler joined before it became the Nazi party, whose antisemitism was a huge influence on Hitler.
