what is a society column?

im doing a project for literture and i have to write a society column for romeo and juliet ..what do i do?

Get a newspaper and go to the page where they announce weddings and engagements. Read the various articles on that page.

Then write like you were writing for that paper.

A society column (as in a newspaper column) would contain information about prominent people, weddings, divorces, scandals etc. Possibly gossip! Events that affect prominent people that would be of some interest to "ordinary people".
