hi! i was recently fired from NTB for taking a t can full of rotors, shocks, brake pads that, at 1st, was 2 b thrown away, my co-worker, mechanic, said lets have a BBQ, great idea. my understanding was the mechanic was doing this, not actually NTB at all. the mechanic left 1 wk ago so i figured the BBQ was off, so i, in need of gas and cigs to last till fri, took them, sold them for scrap. mind u, any other time this would be thrown in the trash off to the LANDFILL. i thought, no sense fillin up the LF with stuff that u could recycle, right. also this can full to the top, in the back of my truck for 1 1/2 - 2 days, manager seen them and knew they were there (no way it could be missed) said nothin. anyway after i had gone, sold it for scrap, returned to work, he fired me for theft!!! this also was not the 1st time i took "THE TRASH" for scrap. i was not the only 1 that done it. as far as i knew it was ok. i had never been told otherwise! any advice, please no smart *** remarks!

It's theft if it's not yours.

It shouldn't be theft. If other people were doing it, inform the manager and complain that you were following their example. This will force him to let you stay or fire the rest. If he doesn't do either, he's a bad manager and should be sued.

Plus, don't smoke.
