I usually purchase each new system Nintendo puts out, but chose not to buy the WII. I am an avid Zelda, Mario and Yoshi fan, and do not want to miss out on them because I did not upgrade.
I tried to find out myself, but was unsuccessful?

No, you cannot play Wii games on a GameCube. You can play GameCube games on a Wii, but not the other way around. But Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess was released on both the Wii and the GameCube, so if you haven't played this yet, get it. It's awesome.

of direction you could! once you put in a interest it exams no count if that could be a wii interest or a gamecube interest. then you definately can placed the controllers into the interest cube controller slot and play away. Plus in case you connect the wii on your cyber web making use of its inner wifi the you could acquire classic video games(eg. Mario old) from the shop channel yet those fee some hundred factors.

Wii games will not play on the Gamecube, but you can play Gamecube games on the Wii. The Wii was designed to play the new Wii games as well as the old Gamecube games, but the Gamecube was not designed to handle the Wii games. And before you go selling your Gamecube, save the controllers and memory cards. I repeat, SAVE THE CONTROLLERS AND MEMORY CARDS!!! You can't play the Gamecube games on the Wii without a Gamecube controller and unless you want to lose all your save files and be unable to save Gamecube info, do NOT get rid of the memory cards!
