The nearest CTA station is the Grand station on the Red Line, at Grand & State St. about 3/4 mile from the Pier. No other CTA line is close to the Pier.

The nearest Metra station is Millennium Station at Randolph & Michigan, but that's only relevant if you will be using Metra Electric or South Shore trains to get to the city. It's about the same distance from the Pier, maybe a bit closer.

My favorite breakfast place downtown is Lou Mitchells which is on Jackson. Great skillet breakfasts. However the Swissotel is nearby Navy Pier and they have great pastries.
