For all the tolerance of the modern world, understanding homosexuality demands education. It goes against the basic laws of nature that all living things are here to reproduce. So while people will comprehend heterosexuality from an early age (mummy & daddy), the introduction of alternative lifestyles will need explaining to the uneducated and inexperienced.
So while you may tire of the question, stop and think, would you prefer to breed contempt? As a rule people distrust and strike out at those things they don't understand.
Don't take it personally, it is one of life's great questions, why is the sky blue?...Why do Indians have that dot on their head? & why is that man holding that other man's hand?
You should be happy to share your reasons and foster understanding in others.

Why is the sky blue?
the questions never cease being the same and rather unknowable.
Pretty simple, not easy but simple none the less. People can be pretty simple too, tell them the next time they open thier traps that thier simple talk makes them sound like simple cookie cutter thoughtless people asking the same world reknowned questions about the sky falling. I always find cyncism and cutting remarks take people downa peg or too, no matter how smart.

There was a time way back when I was in high school that many white middle-class Americans knew absolutely no black people and never saw them represented on television or in major films. The same cultural paradigm shift is happening now regarding gay people.

I don't know why people do that,But I think it's totally wrong.People shouldn't judge others by their sexual orientation,They're still people and they should be treated the same way as anyone else.I hate it when people think that just becuz someone is Gay,Bisexual,or Lesbian that they are less important than anyone else. One of my best friends in the whole world is Bisexual, and another one of my closest friends is Gay....but love them to death!Their sexual orientation doesn't matter to me at all, they're still my friends and I'd do anything for them!

The attributing of a biological cause/influence to the development of homosexuality would be seen by some as Satan working through scientists to pervert the will of God.

I agree. People must learn to live the unexamined life sometimes. Why must we try to find a reason for everything?

To quote Yul Brynner (the character from Cool Runnings, not the actor), it's because they're "different. People are always afraid of what's different."
p.s. I'm not gay, but I have friends who are.

i dont know why. i guess they are homophobes, and just dont like it that we are gay. its probably their religion, but i dont get why they hate homosexuality so much. im ean, if one gay person werent nice to them they would probably be prejiduce against gays. but if a straight person did the same thing, they wouldnt be predijude agaisnt striaght people. anyway, just ignore people like that. be happy who you are, and screw prejiduce people.

Easy answer...some people don't know and just want to know...whats wrong with trying to find out a little information...but if they overdo it like...they are wrong, they are disgusting, then themselves are just being stupid.
