Bush Legacy is getting rich off of your fear.
His cronies have made billions off of the war, while the deficit rises to record levels.
Cost of the war is 1.2 Trillion Dollars.
The look of war hawk Republicans as they see their taxes rise to pay for the war is priceless!

That's a burkha? First one I've seen that shows the entire face and hair. Hmm. Some people just don't know, do they?
And yes, it is fear. Remember how when Khatami was president of Iran, making overtures to the USA, Bush ignored him and the policy wasy "Iran's president has no real power"? Now that the little howler monkey is in office in Tehran, suddenly Bush's cabal is presenting Ahmadninjead as "Having his finger on the nuclear button" (along with nudges from Israel's lobby). How did the office of the Iranian presidency gain so much power so fast?
Silly us. We'll buy into any fear Bush sells. But I hope for better.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, " There is nothing to fear but, fear itself". Where are you now, we need you now. How could these words be forgotten, this imposter in the White House has Painted It Black, fear and war in every speech, the desecration of the Constitution at every turn. His legacy will be The Fall of the American Dream, the betrayal of the promise that each generation had more opportunity than their parents, all we will leave them is a world on the brink of war and a deficit that will spell the end of prosperity for our children and grandchildren. God Help Them.

Yes, Bush’s legacy is one that will be noted as one that promotes fear and discourages hope. Any presidency that puts the pursuit of thwarting terror, over that of addressing poverty, disease, and education, is one that would rather inculcate fear into people so as to elicit obedience, than actually resolve real issues.
If you look at the number of deaths that are caused by terrorism every year, and compare that to how many deaths are caused as a result of poverty, disease, and lack of proper education, you will find that the latter three predicaments far out weigh terrorism as a source of death, destruction, and misery.
So why would a President concentrate on a rather small culprit of human grief, instead of the major causes of suffering? Simply put, terrorism makes for a great boogieman and is good for business. The fear of outside forces, encroaching on American sovereignty and causing the destruction of life, ignoring the fact that these fears are exaggerated, invokes so much trepidation that many Americans would be more than willing to blindly follow any asinine policy that Bush and his cronies will create. Thus, Bush and his political and business allies can profit immensely off of the war effort, without much scrutiny from the American people, who have been lulled into a comatose state of comfort, by a false sense of security given to them by the color codes of Home Land Security, and the notion that “fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here” is actually working.
Fear is triumphant over hope in the Bush administration because fear is political expedient, while hope actually requires real work and accountability, without the monetary benefits.

It's one thing I truly regret, I won't live long enough for history to make an assessment. I'll give you mine. I've lived for over half a century so far, President Bush is an incompetent failure who has been in way over his head for six plus years. His cabinet members, disastrous, military leadership in Iraq changed constantly, massive debt and worst of all, our borders are still not secured six full years after nine-eleven. We have thousands crossing illegally every day, who are they and where did they come from? Why are they entering illegally? I remember every President since Kennedy, I rate President Bush even lower than Nixon. Nixon was unstable with demons everywhere, he hurt himself and his party. President Bush is not only hurting himself and his party, he's damaging the country like no other president I have seen in my life.

Bush will have a legacy? Hopefully, his will go the way that of Harding, Grant, and Johnson...largely forgotten.

Bush's use of fear had a specific purpose, and to describe it as a philosophy at all, even an awful one, rather than simply a means to accomplish what he wanted to do, is to give him too much credit.

Freedom over burka? Have you any clue what sort of government has been elected in the Iraq we "liberated?"
Bush's "war on terror" is code for endless conflict over oil.
