I dont think you could dye it pink. If your looking to mantain some of the natural appearance of the wood try milk paint. Just do a search for milk paint and youll find many colors. Some are powder and you can mix yourself to the coverage you desire. Fairly economical too.

I don't know of any pink dyes available but there is a method to make wood pink. It's best to start with a neutrally colored light colored wood. Apply two thin even coats of wood bleach (usually available at a marine hardware store). It's a two part mixture that neutralizes when it dries. If you have any doubts you can apply a thin coat of white vinegar to neutralize. Minwax make a white pickling stain that can be tinted to almost any color. Usually you can buy some red tint at a smaller paint store that can be used for tinting. Wipe the sealer on, allow it to penetrate and wipe off the excess. Let it dry thoroughly and you can apply a non-yellowing finish to protect it. Minwax used to make a red stain that could be mixed with the white but I haven't seen it lately. Another alternative is to buy a quart of pink or red oil paint to mix with the Minwax pickle.
These methds would yield a pastel pink color.
A company called Behlen used to make a white and a Firetruck Red aniline dye that could be mixed. This would give vibrant deep colors but it would lean more toward red, it was hard to use and I think it's been discontinued for a while.

If the wood is raw, you could use beet juice. Start weak and increase strength to desired color. Red food color would do the same. Might need to mix in a little white paint. Aniline dye will work too but harder to find for non woodworkers.

As long as the wood isnt too dark, yes.
Here is a link to a color chart for Minwax stains - http://www.minwax.com/products/woodstain/waterbased-color.cfm
(Minwax products are carried at any building supply, and hardware store, as well as most online woodworking supply stores)
Now... that's just minwax - if you like you can also look for 'gel' stains, in general which come in a lot of colors

Assuming you don't want to just paint it, then an aniline dye would do the trick.
