But why do so much good when you can do so much harm... and make the filthy rich... sinfully rich.
The Bush Administration is the very definition of corruption; perversion personified.

What I can't believe is that 4 out of 11 respondents (so far) still seem to think it was a good idea. I guess my personal tab would be around $1,200.00 or two paychecks (not counting interest or further accumulation of costs). Pretty steep considering I thought it was a stupid and insane idea to begin with.

for how long could we have done any of these things?
You see I have been working on trying to get one little paragraph in the Social security law fixed which would have prevented my wife from loosing health care for 6 months.
And so far every congressman and Senator who has heard about it says that it shouldn't have happened, yet they haven't fixed it yet, nor do they find time to return my calls.
Now the Sergeant Major of the Army's office has asked me to keep them informed of progress or lack there of.
but back to your problem. You seem to think that the absence of this war would have fixed alot of problems. I ask you when was there no poor?
You see the poor have always been with us, Problems in roadways will always be with us.
People without health care because they don't want to spend the money will always be with us.
Liberals unfortunately will always be with us.

No, I believe it's more than that. And yes, we could have solved many ills in this country with that much money.

. . . not to mention the investment we could have made in energy independence . . . which would have made even the real reason for the war totally unnecessary!

More than that... we won't get a nice tidy little bill in the mail, either...
That's not how these costs are paid... you just wait and see...

more is wasted by social programs and pork. At least the money spent on war served a purpose - protecting us from terrorists and establishing better ties in the Middle East
