what are the worms in our body called and what do they do?

There are different parasitic worms that can invade a persons body.
There are tape worms, Hook worms, ring worms (not really a worm, but a fungus instead). Which one are you in reference to? I know there are others too, I just can't think of them right now.

A healthy person does not have worms.
