Yes - I use it in the form of Malt Vinegar on my fish and chips all of the time.

You just have to buy it that way - don't try to dilute your own.

All that I will say is that dilute ACETIC acid is essentially what vinegar is.

So this question could be asked "Is vinegar safe to put on french fries?" That should be a straightforward question...

It's acetic acid, also called vinegar, and it's excellent. In many parts of the world, that's the preferred way of eating them!!

If you put vinegar which is 5% to 18% acetic acid or lemon juice (citric acid)on your chips there are no problems. I prefer totmato ketchup???

Yes; usually accompanied by sodium chloride. The ONLY way to eat them with fish.

That is just vinegar. It may taste off, but its perfectly safe
