Introductory film/video production.

I registered for the class a week late, I handed in the first assignment the next week (film, then second part edit).

Then she told me she would not give me credit for it (5%) because it was not done on time, nor would she give me credit for editing it because it was due that day (total of 10% of my grade.)

I had to talk her into giving me partial credit for the first assignment. So I basically started out the class with a -6percent.

Then another assignment I did and went to go get it processed. They process once a week, I went there and the lady left early. Then I went again on their processing day and they already did that. I told my teacher and she said she would not give me credit for it because she gave me a week extension. I told her that the store closed early (even though store hours showed otherwise) but she says she will not accept it (it is worth 15% of my grade)

Another student overexposed her film and the teacher let her re do it

When we're going to production at 1:30AM this coming morning and you were assigned to get me some film of that fire on 3rd Avenue...

I don't care one raw oyster why you weren't able to meet the deadline, we went to production without your shots, you're fired and I'm going to tell everyone else in the business that you can't meet deadlines.

I'd rather have had overexposed film (fix it in post) than no film at all.

She's teaching you a real life lesson and she's being more than fair.

I am not quite sure but is seems that your professor might be giving you some problems because you registered late. I have notice that with some professors when I was going to college. In your first assignment, the professor could have given you a break and give you more time since you registered late. And, then you would have had enough time and catch up with your classmates. In the second assignment you were given a week extension that was fair, I think. If you feel in your heart that this professor is giving you a hard time and you are doing all your best you may want to talk to a dean of the department of the subject at hand and ask for an advice. You are a student and I know you want to earn your grade without issues.

You really shouldn't leave things to the last minute and this is something you clearly did with your assignment. It's your responsibility to get your work done early because yes, sometimes store hours are incorrect or printers don't work etc. She already gave you partial credit on an assignment you handed in late. This second time, she'll give you no benefit of the doubt because you procrastinate. You're irresponsible and yes, she is being fair.

The instructor is setting standards/precedent for you so you don't turn in anything late. Learn the lesson and never turn anything in late. Simple rule to follow.

Sounds like youre being treated unfairly. I suggest that if you can you drop the class and just take it some other time with a different professor unless it is essential you take it now.

yeah seriously dude get over it. This is how college is. They dont cut you any slack. Youre an adult now, so you have to take care of your own stuff.
