Asked this earlier but made a mistake on the first one...

a. 8x - 3 (x + 2) = 5y - x
b. -6x = 7 -5y

1. How would I rewrite the first equation in slope-intercept form?

2. How would I rewrite the second equation in slope-intercept form?

3. Are they parallel?

10 points to whoever gets it right.

Hello,

Slope intercept form is y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

So in the first one simply 8x -3x -6 = 5y -x now 5x -6 = 5y -x solve for y giving us.

5y = 6x -6 so y = 6/5 x - 6/5

Second one

-6x -7 = -5y so y = 6/5 x + 7/5

They have the same slope so they are parallel.
Hope This Helps!
