I'm a guy, 20, and I think I was watching porn too much. So I've decided to stop, but now I can't get it out of my mind. What do I do? How do I forget about what I've seen?

You can't. You can't unsee things. You just don't focus your time and mental energy on it. Get a new hobby. Something that requires attention to detail.

You'll have to make a conscious effort to think of something else when porn pops into your mind. It might help to sit down and write out some statements that you can say out loud when you start thinking of porn. Make 'em about god or your mother. Really, can you think about porn while saying outloud, "My Mom in a bikini?"
Hope this helps.

And by the way, congrats on giving up porn. It's poison to relationships.

Replace the porn with literature and video that has value. Something that your interested in. You can still enjoy a good looking woman just think about her and her attributes in a different context. When you reward your mind and soul with useful info and sights a new world will open up to you.
What you take in you put out.

Give it time. In the meantime, porn every now and then is not bad, it is not healthy when you watch it every night.

Pick up a Bible and start reading the Gospel of John. I guaranty you that the porn in your mind will slowly have no hold on you.

Take up a new sport like running. Another thing that miight work (aversion therapy) would be to wear a rubber band around your wrist. Everytime you get a jones to watch porno, snap it. Good luck.

Pray without ceasing like the Bible says.....and guard your mind on what you think of. If a thought or memory comes to mind, immediately dismiss it and think of something else. After awhile it will be better.

Joy to you!!!

Give it some time. If that does not work, find a twelve step program like SA and work the steps.

Good luck.
