Usually, the goal of desensitizing is to get a premature ejaculator to slow down. Desensitizing creams actually have a topical anesthetic in them - I've never heard from the ladies what it's like when the anesthetic rubs off inside, but a condom would eliminate that problem. Condoms desensitize a little, too.

After a reasonably healthy guy ejaculates once, he can probably get another erection in a few minute, and even come again. The "second coming" (or third, or ...) is often slower than the first - maybe you can use that to your advantage.

Some guys are born with the ability to last for hours, and some men aren't. Really, there is no magic cure for this. You'll here people talk about doing exercise, thinking of baseball, using creams, etc. Some of it can work a bit, but honestly most of it is just urban legend. Other than getting some kind of desensitization surgery, if it exists, the only thing I can recommend is to purchase a toy for your girlfriend, do lots of foreplay, and when she has gotten hers, you can get yours. I don't want to sound negative, but this is just something you will have to live with. Not everyone was born to be a great athlete, musician, scientist, have amazing sexual stamina, etc. But take comfort in this. Nature wants you to finish as quick as possible, as it is more efficient for reproduction. Look at animals, most of them are done in under a minute. People that last forever are actually the abnormal ones lol.
