I had a friend in middle school named Jennifer, so the name has always had warm, happy thoughts associated with it. I like nicknames like Jen(n) and Jenny/Jennie. My friend often went by the nickname Jenny, which I always thought was lovely and sweet. Very feminine, but not too frilly.
Don't worry about your name coming from the name Genevieve. All names evolve from something else, some pleasing to your ears and some not. What matters is that your name is Jennifer, not any of the names that led up to it :)

I think Jennifer is a nice name. It's common, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I have a friend named Jennifer, and she goes by Jennifer and Jen. She's polite and smart. And I have a friend named Jenny. Just Jenny, and that's what she goes by. Then I know a bitchy Jennifer who goes by Jenni. Genevieve isn't that bad, and most people wouldn't associate your name with that anyway. But ya, I like Jennifer, Jen, and Jenny. Probably Jenny the best.

Why is it sickening that it came from Genevieve? Genevieve is quite a nice name.
Weirdly enough, I like the nickname Jenn better than Jen - though phonetically, there's really no difference. It's just that most 'Jens' seem to be a bit bitchier than the 'Jenns' - I don't know why lol. My favorite nickname would be Jenny - it's adorable. Though I know a Jenny who's actually only a Jenny - not a Jennifer or anything, and she hates it lol. I guess because she doesn't have a formal name to fall back on later.

I love the name Genevieve! It is really pretty. Jennifer is a nice name, although kinda common. I love it though and everyone I know named Jennifer has been really nice so I associate the name with good qualities. Jenny is a pretty nick name but I have never really liked Jen that much. Your name means 'A woman of the people'.

My name is Jennifer and I go by Jen because Jenny sounds like a little girl with pig tails.

I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I think that the world has overdosed on Jennifer! Nicknames are cute, and the name itself is pretty, but I know far too many Jennifers to see the positives of the name.

I actually like the name Genevieve better than Jennifer. Jennifer is too common. Jen/Jenn is all right, though.

I dont think it's sickening, but I do think it's pretty trendy. But I like the nicknames Jenn and Jenny--if I were a Jennifer I'd probably want to be called Jenny. Overall, it's not a horrible name, it was trendy for a reason after all.
