The coast guard is the military but you stay within US borders and they have a variety of job opportunities. Check it out:

Im not sure if you meant the military or just a place where you could pursue your dreams in art without having to pay. If the 2nd one existed, we would all be there.

You could get a job in the private sector and SAVE UP for all those things you want.

you could join a religious cult or a hippy commune or travel with the rainbow children, or you could buy a motorcycle and scooter around the country for a while...
arizona and newmexico have some artist communities you could look into .
