The exact moves are too complex and too many steps to explain on here. Back in the 80's when it was really hot they had paperback books that would show you the moves step by step when you reached a certain point in the process. You could check old book stores or even now with its reinvention they probably have the books again at the store or even the info online

i've tried lots of ways the easiest is just practicing and memoizing the way that little pamphlet tells you when you buy the cube

I "solved" it by taking it apart and putting it back together.
