I am installing a sliding gate and to keep the track level i need to build up one side of my existing driveway to ensure the track doesn't buckle when driven over. I am looking at using Bondcrete to build up enough cement and feather it approx. 200mm either side of the track. Can anyone comment on whether this is a viable solution, or will it just crack up from being driven over daily?

It won't work. That thin a layer of concrete will be crumbling within two months.

You could go with the 200mm idea ..BUT you will be better off getting a concrete cutter and cut down 50mm and kanga the concrete out between cuts then leave a rough finish on bottom, hose the slot clean, mix your concrete with a cup of bondcrete in the water drum and paint some of the water mix in the slot then place your concrete, if you can, i would make a speed bump out of it.. hope this helps you.

Can the track itself support a vehicle even on the "high" side. Sounds like you should hire a pro. Don't want to waste your money. What I've seen is a rubber sill. Similar things are used in a mall to stop people from tripping on extension cords...have you seen those?? This way, tires would not come in contact with track at all.

the best way to install this is too elivate the track with some sort or non rusting washers to make up the difference. Elevating the concrete will only chip, crack and flake like a muffin. there are plenty of other options to make this work. good luck.

a piece of steel flat stock as high as the track and as long should keep the track from buckling...or cut the concrete and mount the track flush with the driveway...

no because the gravel is loose. the concrete is stuck to the loose gravel.. it doesnt work... you cant do both... you either have a gravel driveway, or a concrete driveway... good thought, but it doesnt work... i know that because i tried it... ended up spending 3 grand for a concrete drive and the clean up for the mess i made... get a pro and an estimate...
