Hi, I'm a student in San Francisco who's planning on traveling home for the holidays and I have other expenses like food & rent, etc... Basically I'd like to find a gig or gigs that lets me earn a few hundred ($200 - $500) dollars between now and my departing date, the 20th of December. The problem is, I've been looking on craigslist and I can't seem to find anything that suits what I'm best at doing, which is sprite/pixel art for logos, icons, etc. In the past I was lucky enough to find gigs like this, but I'm having no luck right now, and I really need to find something! What is the best way to earn some extra money without starting a full time job? (I won't be able to commit to any job for longer than a month since I'll be returning home for the holidays). Any help would be most appreciated!

Offer your services on Rent-a-Coder.

As a backup plan, be prepared to do something you DON'T LIKE for a mere month to get the money to travel home!

But it sounds like a Rent-a-Coder might be a good long-term gig for you. Each job is only one project, usually accomplished overnight or in a couple of days. You'd probably enjoy it even after the holidays. (Plus, you can do it wherever you have access to a computer and the Internet!)

A part time job. You should easily be able to get that much part time. Forget looking for "what you are best at." If you need money, take what is available. There are jobs everywhere.

Instead of looking on craigslist why don't you place an ad. It seems to be what you are good at and enjoy.
