I recentally filed a claim w/ the district attorneys office b/c i was having to punch out for a break while contiuning to work (i work at a hotel 3-11, where im at the hotel alone). corporate got in trouble and got upset with me. After all this i was supposed to get a 1.00 raise as promised 3 weeks ago and when I was first hired after my 90 day eval, now the hotel today tells me I'm not getting that raise. I'm planning on file a employment retalation dicrimination act for denial of promotion, before I do this im just curious what I'll get out of it. will I even get my raise you think? or will this just add fuel to the fire and get my job even more upset with me?

Yes they want you to quit so they wont have to pay unemployment. a lawsuit over 1.00 raise wouldnt be worth the trouble in my opinion.

Good luck with that!

I had a kid accuse me of hitting her the first full year I worked in the inner city public school. Every boy who were behind her and in a position to see what didn't happen, were discounted upon their interviews and every girl who was in front of this kid and not in a position to see what didn't happen, were taken upon their word. The principal went after me for all that was worth, including telling me that I had an attitude in front of my class and the entire neighborhood since it was in the school yard as we were starting the day. I too decided to fight.

I had a union who, upon the supposed, "investigatory" meeting, told me to calm down when I got angry that the principal's union rep called me a "bad teacher" and "a liar."

I was going to go through the channels of the union and force a grievance since the principal's persecution continued and, if anything, got worse. When I went to prepare for the grievance hearing, I was asked what I thought would come out of it. I told this person that I would lose and be more persecuted than ever. She told me I was exactly right and I should consider giving up. This was my union dues at work! I finally did give up and even apologized to the principal. I stayed another 7 years before the place finally got to me enough that I quit.

My suggestion: Either accept it and apologize, kissing up where necessary or find another job. If my union couldn't help, you can't do it on your own.

PS I even went to a lawyer for $450 an hour who basically said, he could do nothing until the union ran its course.

Yes, the company wants you to quit, and if you are still within the 90 day probation period, you will probably be let go soon. In my state, the company can lay you off at any time for no reason, and you are free to quit your job as well.
