Could I hook up a vacuum gauge using the vacuum hose thats hooked up to the EGR valve?

I have a 2000 eclipse.

NO you cannot ,reading is variable,,,but if you follow the hose
up to the EGR solenoid you could use the other hose ,,

try to get from the fuel pressure regulator hose using a tee...

To get a true reading of eng. vacum is to look for a vacum source as clost to center of manifold.

You need a connection directly into the intake.
