Here's what we have http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5983018, I saw the same thing on "John and Kate Plus 8" that they put around their Christmas tree and presents.

RE:
Keeping baby away from Christmas tree???
Does anyone know what I can use to keep my 9 month old from crawling under and pulling at my Christmas tree this year? Like something I can use to block it off that will go around it. Every gate i see is only for a doorway so they won't work. Any thoughts???

Look at OneStepAhead.com. They have gates to go around trees and whatnot. Or you can get creative - we used to barricade the tree with furniture (not attractive looking, but kept hte kids away), or we put the tree in a corner between two couches, and put a regular door gate in the space between the couches. One year we put it in a different room that we could gate the baby out of completely. Good luck!!

Well, if you're looking for a type of gate, you could buy one of those pens usually used for puppies. They're low and like an octagon shape. That would fit around the tree.

As crazy as this sounds, a round dog pin. That will wrap all the way around the tree, and is about half the cost of a custom gate.

I've seen these plastic tree-skirt things at Babies R Us that have walls that keep baby away. I'd get one, but my daughter will only be 6 months at Christmas so it's no biggie right now. Try looking on their website, or if there's a store near you try there!

well you could always put a baby gate/play yard around it and that would keep her away.
the gates to use are accorian styles or kinds tht interlock together to make a play yard. http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=488757&parentCategoryId=85183&categoryId=85217

perhaps a fireguard? my daughter was one and walking last xmas and i just kept telling her nicely but firmly 'no' and removing her from the tree. it seemed to work pretty well. its all interesting at that age.
