well I love my dog but...it seems like animal rights atavists don't even want people to have pets. I had a lady yell at me today because I walked into the pet supply store BEFORE my dog! She said I was mean and that I probably beat him too. Um, what!? I can't even enjoy my dog anymore and I've only had him for a few days!

Well, she's over the top. I suppose there are some people who really over do it. But, I think most people don't.

Well that lady was a bit extream. WOW
I treat my two dogs and my two cats like my kids.... yup they are spoiled.
But like my kids.. if they start acting out they get their time outs as well.
People are a little crazy about the pet thing these days but hey what really can we do... they do need more rights TRUE.
But do not tell a good pet owner how to deal up with their own pet... gezzz come on.
Good question... Not a great answer but I agree with your issue. To many nuts in one bowl.

Some people can't have kids or maybe are waiting for the right person to come along. She is probably a dog lover like myself but um... beating him is too much. She probably refer dog to kids and got the image of people doing these kind of things to their kids
