Armistice Day. It is the day World war 1 ended, 11 hour, 11 day, 11 month of 1918.

I'm Canadian - we call it Rememberance Day, as does the UK. But Americans never did.

It was originally called Armistice Day, in remembrance of those who fought in WW1. After WW2, it was changed to Remembrance Day, to honor the dead of both wars, and as wars kept happening, it was finally changed to Veteran's Day, to include all soldiers who lost their lives in battle.
