"When I'm president I'm going to say to members of Congress and members of my administration, including my Cabinet: I'm glad that you have health care coverage and your family has health care coverage. But if you don't pass universal health care by July of 2009 — in six months — I'm going to use my power as president to take your health care away from you. There's no excuse for politicians in Washington having health care when you don't have health care."

What do you think of Edwards' threat to take away Congress' health care if they don't pass a universal health care bill?

Let's look at the SCHIP bill that has been making the rounds in Washington despite the Presidential veto. Next look at the poll numbers for the senators and representatives who voted against the expansion of the bill.

Senior Senators like John Sununu and Mitch McConnell are in danger of losing their seat partly because of their voting record over Health Care. A large number of Republicans are retiring rather than trying to defend their seats.

Now to address the issue in the question. Even a president as unpopular as Bush has been able to push his agenda items through Congress. With what appears to be a very big win for the Democrats and a mandate to make Health Care Reform happen, a President with the charisma of Edwards could address Congress and make Health Care Happen. He also has the tenacity to follow through on his promise to visit the districts of the senators that vote against Universal Health Care to make sure the constituents know how their representative voted.

I say it is time that someone had the nerve to push the envelope. I am lucky enough to have excellent health care coverage and hope that all Americans will have the same kind of care my children have been fortunate enough to have.

Obama said the same thing.

But its unrealistic. As much as people are screaming about this health care with the defecit as big as it is its unlikely that it would be passed in the next President's first term, and it is likely that the next President, Democrat or Republican, will have to put aside many of their proposals in favor of defecit reduction.

But Edwards is trying to distinguish himself in what is increasingly being portrayed as a Clinton-Obama contest and he wants to get back in so he's taking more risks, because if he doesn't win this primary I don't see how he has a future in electoral politics.

with out making any generalized comments as maximum of look to do, i will declare this. the undeniable fact that AIG have been given so large replaced right into a substantial concern to our financial equipment. no rely in case you opt for for to have self belief it or no longer, the undeniable fact that we bailed them out through fact of it i think is authentic. the 2nd area is a ethical question. on the grounds that they had won the money from the folk, ought to they have been allowed to proceed with the movements they took? I say HELL NO. besides the undeniable fact that, we ought to continually make particular you're taking each and each challenge and look at it one by one. I for one think of that it somewhat is a factor of the peoples fault (inclusive of mine) through fact i lack the accountability to pass and study approximately what those companies and politicians have been doing. human beings would desire to start taking greater accountability and do much less bitching.

This Israel supporting fool has no ones support. excuse me I mean any intelligent persons vote. Health care for everyone what a fricken joke. Where the hell is this tool going to get the money for that. Our dollar is ready to collapse completely, the signs are all over , the rest of the world is starting to see the worth of our dollar and this scumbag wants to tax us more and have the dollar fall even further by providing healthcare for all. A nanny isnt what our government was supposed to be. It was to preserve our liberty and provide necessary services to uphold our freedom and liberty which is our constitution. If we could ever grow up and be responsible for our own actions, were not taxed on our labor we all would have means to much better health care instead of giving the government money for them to provide it for us. Anything the government touches gets screwed up and ends up costing much more than a free market soceity would bring to us. Simple example why do computers and cell phones get more advanced and become cheaper, answer because the government hasnt touched it. It was able to flourish via the free market. Again We the people are what we should be fighting for and if your candidate does not speak of protecting your liberties and freedoms as described in the constitution they are not looking out for you. It is essentially that simple. Now where do we go, is there anyone that speaks of our rights and needless taxes or our new doctrine of preemptive war with a nuclear weapon and how that is not off the table. Wow its like I am from Russia all of the sudden. We have free speech zones, FEMA camps,we are monitored constantly,we now start wars instead of only going to war if we were attacked or our liberty was at stake. Millions are loosing their homes because of what the federal reserve is doing to the interest rates and bubbles. Yet we have hundreds of billions of dollars to spend in other countries seeing to it that they have freedom and democracy. Am I missing something or has this country lost its way.
There is one thing I havent missed and no thanks to my television for keeping me informed, Ron Paul is running for president and its a chance of a lifetime possibly many lifetimes, I suggest everyone listen to him and see why he has started a revolution.
Dont you just once want to be involved with something honest , good and for the better of all people as individuals with liberty.Dont you feel somethings wrong. Dont you want to be a part of something energizing, patriotic and stand up for your freedoms as did our great great grandfathers in the times when tyranny was reigning supreme. Dec 16th is our chance to tell the world and this corrupt government we as mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore! Donate to Ron Paul on the 16th be a part of history , be a part of a revolution be a part of telling the mainstream media we know they are distroting our news. We the people shall speak on dec 16th.

This whole health care stuff is crap anyways this is comming from our tax dollars. It is not my fault if people can't afford health care them selves. They should get a real job.
