Wikipedia is your best friend.

"Poseidon is the brother of Zeus and Hades and has many children. "

"Graffiti show that Poseidon was venerated in Bronze Age Greece, but as he was integrated into the Olympian gods." (Chances are he live on Olympus then)

Poseidon was sort of what Zeus should be like. He did not get on alot of people's nerves, except Athena. They had beef, especially when Athena became the patron of Athens when Poseidon believed it was he who gave the Athenians the first gift.

Even though Poseidon had his own magnificent realm under the sea near Aegae in Euboea, he spent alot of time on Olympus. He was envious of Zeus and this became clear when he and Hera plotted against Zeus and actually chained him up. Their plan all came to nothing because while they were arguing help came to Zeus. There was a point during the Trojan war when he dared Apollo to fight him and Apollo did not out of respect. Poseidon and Apollo were probably equally strong and the most powerful gods after Zeus himself who was immensley powerful.

Poseidon had a thing for Aphrodite, who didn't? She was/is hot. Like Zeus he cheated on his wife Amphitrite and like Hera his wife would take revenge on his mistresses. I believe Poseidon built the gates to Tartarus to imprison his aunts and uncles. Tartarus is not really an ideal place for anyone to be living in but it is in Hades realm of Hades (it has the same name as him).

Poseidon was Zeus, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia’s brother. He was one of the rescued sons of Chronos (having being swallowed). After the war with the Titans he was given the sea to sovereign. He was responsible for earthquakes and storms. He fathered the Cyclops (one eyed creature) and Pegasus (flying horse: his mother was Medusa). He was also Triton’s (half human half fish) father. He was also rumored to be the father of the hero Theseus in mythology almost as famous as Hercules. He father numerous more offspring but Orion should be mentioned as another. He was inlove with Demeter his sister and out of this he father Arion with her.
His niece was Athena and with her he fought for a wonderful city which in the end she won hence the name Athens.
It is said that he lived on the ocean floor in a palace made of coral and gems, and drove a chariot pulled by horses.

Poseiden was one of the three main gods, brother to Hades (underworld) and Zeus (the sky). He was said to have dwelt in a palace beneath the waves.

Tartarus was where Hade's lived, Olympus was where Zeus and the other gods lived.

A fiercely defiant god of the sea. He was associated with storms, earthquakes, and other violent natural forces. He often tried to undermine Zeus's authority by conspiring with the other gods.

He lived at Olympus.

Poseidon was one of the caretakers of the Oracle at Delphi before Olympian Apollo took it over. Apollo and Poseidon worked closely in many realms: in colonization, for example, Apollo provided the authorization to go out and settle from Delphi, while Poseidon watched over the colonists on their way, and provided the lustral water for the foundation-sacrifice.

Poseidon, God of the Sea lived in a palace on the ocean floor, made of coral and gems.
