As a friend, my main responsibility is to make sure there is a designated driver. I often am that person. Yes, it usually means I have to forgo the liquor fun--but I still have fun and I know nobody will die. If anyone is drinking in my home, it is my responsibility to cut it off before they get drunk. As for drinking and driving, I think it is beyond stupid--but the problem is, people don't think there is a problem when they get behind the wheel or they wouldn't do it. So, basically, they need to be educated before they ever take the chance. I used to love the crashed vehicles with the story that they put on our college campus. Made people think.

If you really care about your friends, you won't let them drive drunk. Several reasons. So they don't get hurt if the have an accident, or hurt any one else. The chance of getting picked up for drunk driving and the money involved, plus not having a drivers licence, for a year. Don't like it, but was quilty of doing it when I was younger. I was very lucky and didn't get caught.
