Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, The Verve, Green Day, Pearl Jam all come to mind for me. As for the best I'll go with Oasis.

Can't give an award away to one band. Best album was Queensryche's "Empire", and best single was the Four Horsemen - "Rockin' Is Mah Business (And Business Is Good)".

Um....
Queen was only around for 1990,
and like.....until November of '91,
and they didn't exactly do much work in '91,
as their lead singer was dying,
but that doesn't matter.
They still win.
