Don't like it. It is like heaven was attempted to be spelled backwards but was mispelled. Even if not mispelled, something we love spelled backwards is certainly no criteria for making a good name. Otherwise, wouldn't a lot of people think "DOG" was a good name for a baby?

You asked for our honesty, so I'll be blunt. Tracy: It is legitimate, but seems so incredibly dated. I dislike it, but don't particularly hate it. It really just does nothing for me. Neveah: Yes, hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Heaven spelled backwards... I think someone made this up and thought they were being clever. It's just utterly awful. McKenzie: This is awful. I hate "Mc" names, especially on little girls. They are last names! McKenzie, McKenna, Mc, Mc, Mc... they are all LAST names! Again, somewhere along the line, someone thought this was okay. It's equivalent to naming a little girl Smith or Johnson. It's horrifically masculine, looks unsightly, and sounds harsh. Fiona: LOVE this. It's a beautiful, yet understated and little used name. By far the best on the list. Charlie: For a girl, absolutely not. I know there are celebrities that name their daughters this (ie: Rebecca Romijn), but it's plain and simply not a girl's name. For a boy, it's cute, although as a nickname for something more sophisticated like Charles. Gillian: I like this, especially with the "G" rather than the "J" but the name is starting to sound a bit dated, a little 70's and 80's.

You mean Nevaeh - you mixed up the "a" and the "e" (as do so many illiterate idiot moms who name their child Neveah.)
People hate it because every time someone suggests it as a baby name, they feel the need to say, "It's heaven spelled backwards" So why not just name your kid Heaven? Why do you need to have a backwards name? Why do you need to explain it? It's so trailer trash, so trendy Wal-Mart, beyond grotesque.

Hope I've given you an adequate answer ;)

Edit: Neveah (the misspelled version) was actually number 996 in the top 1000 names in 2006. The correctly spelled, yet equally hideous, Nevaeh was number 43! up from number 70 the previous year - it's been climbing since it first showed up at 266 in 2001.

First of all, spelling it as "Neveah" defeats the purpose of having it as Heaven spelled backward. Reversing the E and the A is a common mistake.

I think it's a horrid, common name. It's right down there (I'm afraid to say that it's way 'up there') with Micheala.

They are both spelled incorrectly more times than I have fingers or toes to count on, and they sound like something a six year old would name her teddy.

I don't think either name is classy or pretty; they are too mainstream for me.

It seems to be a name appealing to dislexic nuns. Neveah, ever, whatever. If you want a religious name crack open a Bible and choose one.

i dont like the connotation with heaven, but maybe thats because i personally dont believe in god. the idea of spelling a word backward and making it a name annoys me. a name should have more meaning than that. if it wasn't a word backwards, i wouldn't hate it as much, but since i know it as a backwards word it sounds like a backwards word to me. know what i mean? its hard to pretend i dont know its a word backwards. but i guess if it wasn't a word backwards, it would be somewhat pretty sounding.

I can't stand it.

I don't like the way it sounds.
It's used too often, it's over played.

The concept of it is nice (Heaven) but it just sounds.... blah. Almost as bad as Legna (Thankfully, I've only met one child stuck with this name.)
