When we talk about the hip hop G.O.A.T, Tupac and Biggie are always the first 2 names at the top, but is that right? some people think that Jigga is a must when we talking bout the best.
Nas, Eminem, LL Cool J? Even 50????

Me? well, if pushed to say -

1. Biggie
2. Eminem
3. Tupac
4. LL Cool J
5. Chamillionaire

The Notorious B.I.G.
Nas
Rakim
Jay-Z
KRS-One
2Pac
Ice Cube
Scarface
Eminem
LL Cool J

all in terms of skill and order. not in timespan, influence, or any other ways of comparing the best.

of course this will not be the best answer cuz pac overated, face and cube underrated, people say uncle l and nasty nas fell off, jay turned into a business man, rakim and krs-one are forgotten, eminem apparently not been in the game long enough or he white, and biggie only had 2 albums.

-to the hidden answers:

sugar hill gang stole lyrics from grandmaster caz, they even say the homies' name in their song.

-MC Ren wrote all of Eazy-E's songs, except Boys-n-tha-hood by Ice Cube, and even The D.O.C. wrote his stuff while he on N.W.A.

Have the rest of y'all just started listening to hip hop today? Paul Wall? I bet Cham wrote his stuff on Get Ya Mind Right, and Cham hasn't wrote enough classics about police on hip hop violence... yet. Same goes for 50 and his great hooks. P.S. Get Rich or Die Tryin' = best album of 2000's and top ten material.

i wouldn't include LL Cool J or chamillionarie.
instead i would add the RZA and all of Bone Thugs n Harmony.

The RZA added a whole new feel to hip hop music. his works have laid the foundations for many other hip-hop producers today.

Bone Thugs n Harmony creaed a whole new style to Hip Hop. when many were mimicking the "The Chronic", BTNH created a new kind of flow called rapid flow. This kind of rap put the entire mid-west on the map. thanks to them, the midwest has those like kanye west, twista, and lupe fiasco in the rap game.

my top 5

1.)Nas
2.)Rakim
3.)Jay-z
4.)Biggie
5.)Tupac

they are interchangeable on my list...i mean; jay-z and rakim could both be one, tupac and biggie could go as high as 2, jay-z could go as low as 5...but thats my opinion

i honestly dont see how Chamillionaire can make anyone's list....but to each his own

Jay Z is in my opinion. To the first guy who answered, the Sugarhill Gang stole lyrics from underground artists.
