I have been on the pill since I had my now 3 yr old. Just last month I had my yearly check-up & a renewal of my bc pills. Well I switched pharmacies and the new pharmacy gave me different pills. I was on Aviane & they gave me something that starts with an "L" (can't remember what) but anyways, I am now 4 days late and scared to death. Can switching brands cause the bc pill to fail? I have 3 kids & a 4th is not welcome.

your body is just reacting to either the new meds in your system or if u stopped taking them for even 1 day it can throw your system in a wreck!

There is loestrin, but that is not the same as Aviane. Alesse can be the generic of aviane. Switching brands shouldn't cause the BC to fail. If you are worried, just use a second form of protection.

sometimes it can but go ahead and buy a test to be on the safe side , or go back to the doctor and ask for a blood test.
