Im taking a human sexuality course at my CC and the teacher raised the question, is porn phychologically harmfull for you? what do you think?

Okay, so I am only 16, but porn has had some negative effects on me. First of all, you can become addicted and feel the urge wo watch it regularly, which isn't too clean of a habit. When I got into an intimate relationship, I found it almost harder to get aroused because I was so used to goddess-like bodies and kinky fantasies.. I think it contributes to E.D. Porn might not affect everyone, but it sure affected me.

It can be. In general, it is not. Anything and everything can be bad for you. It is just a matter to what degree.
Example: If I ate apples all day everyday and never anything else...that would be bad for me. But are apples bad? No, they are not.
Porn works the same way. Porn is a spice of life where a little goes a long way. It should only be used in moderation to sparingly.

porn is not harmful. It may stimulate your hormones for having sex. It is only harmful if you take action that is illegal or use it to be forceful on others of your desires. It is a huge distraction to that of reality though.

Porn can be harmful if one enters the porn world at too young an age. They learn sex is a normal thing and could grow up to be a sex offender. On the other side, porn can be very useful to calm one's hormones down, and could even prevent going too far with someone because of your feelings. I also think that porn may be the cause of weird obsessions, and encourages weird fetishes which need to be controlled, not encouraged. Overall, I personally, have not had any bad experiences with porn, and it has only done good for me, so porn is good for me :-).

I don't see how it could be bad. I mean if you get to into it. that's a little creepy. It has entertainment value that's what counts

I believe it is yes. I believe it can distort the way one views women and sex. I think it leads to objectification and unreal expectations. Some porn also promotes violence against women. Porn often makes women into caricatures, does not display them as real or complete people. For over 100 years governments have used this kind of thing ( propaganda) to make one race of people hate another.... Look at how Japanese people were portrayed during world world 2 or look at propaganda from Vietnam...etc. If you can dehumanize a person ( like porn does ) and objectify them ( as porn does ) it makes them easier to hate, hurt and ultimately kill.
Many serial rapists and murders ( like Ted Bundy ) report having porn addictions. Many rapists and murders report indulging in porn or strippers as a way to build up to thier hateful horrible acts.
Like the first women who posted I also agree it ruins and will continue to ruin several marriages and relationships.
I for one, have a serious problem dehumanizing and making a commodity out of a gender
