Just think of how the autosome chromosomes are 1-22 and it can't be the sex chromosomes because the sex chromosomes are #23 either x or y.

Autosomal diseases involve the non-sex chromosomes, which are 1 through 22. Dominant autosomal diseases are fairly rare, since they are usually not able to be passed on, with the disease manifesting in childhood and causing death. One big exception is Huntington's. This usually manifests after age 30. My ex-husband's nephew, Christopher Youngblood, was 3 yr old when he was diagnosed and died at age of 11. Since then there have been a few other cases of Juvenile Huntingtons diagnosed.
