Anyone else give their son the names, Matthew, Michael, James, Joseph, John?
All 4 of my boys have one of these as their middle names: Brandon Matthew, Jacob James, Christopher Joseph, and Zachary Michael.
Just wondering about popularity.
Also, do you know of any other common middle names?

Yes, I can't believe I forgot William as it is my father-in-laws middle name as well my brother-in-law and nephew, the same brother-in-law also has a son William.

I think Robert is pretty common, too. I love your kids names. My dad's name is John and Matthew & James are two of my favorite boys names. Nice choices!

Two of my brothers have middle names from your list - Matthew and Michael.
I'm not sure about common boys middle names but for girls the most common I've seen are Marie and Leigh

My dad's middle name is John and my brother's middle name is James. All of those are really common middle names for guys. I don't think I can think of any others that top those. I know for girls Marie, Lynn, and Anne are very popular

Those middle names are pretty popular for boys, I guess, but it's different I think for them - they all still sound good. Probably because those are still often used as given names as well. Popular middle names for girls, like Lynn, Marie, Anne, and Rose, just sound tired and boring for some reason. Though when those names are used as first names, it sounds a lot better (there seems to be hardly any real Roses left, but like millions of girls with Rose as their middle name).
