I grew up in southern Ohio, and I swear it seems like to me when it was wintertime, weather was colder and with a heck of a lot more snow??

Yes. I grew up in Connecticut and it used to snow enough to sled and have lots of fun with the snow. It didn't snow for years there.
Also we never had to water the lawn and now you must water to have a green lawn.

I live in western Montana now. When I came here 30 years ago, there were lots of "Native of Tropical Montana" bumper stickers everywhere. I never see the stickers anymore, but the winters are more mild and drier. Our coldest weather has come in Oct-Nov rather than Dec-Jan.

I think the winds have changed.
