I prefer CompUSA, because it's a computer component store. Best-Buy is an all around electronic's store where their sale's employee's might not know much about Computer's. But Best-Buy does affiliate themselves with "Geek Squad". But I used to be a CompUSA Customer until they shut their door's and moved out of Southern California.

Actually, they both have good merits. Comp USA has more components and, Software. A huge selections more so than Best Buy. I shop at both of them, depending on who has the best sales for the week. :)
A recent experiences with Comp USA played out like this.
Bought a new Toshiba laptop and, ended up taking it back in days because of a problem that I didn't like. They exchanged it, no questions asked. The second one, as well.
I now have the third one and, have had it for 4 months with no problems. You never know whats gonna happen when you're buying electronic.. (These problems wasn't Comp USA fault, but the way they handle my concerns was, Exceptional~!
I also bought the extend warranties and tech support.
Toshiba handled all of my calls in a very professional manner and, in the end, recommend that I return the defective unit.

Best Buy. I say that cuz I'm a computer specialist for best buy and I do know the one I work at we all have degrees in some part of the IT field so all of are sales associates are knowledgable in computers as well as we have Geek Squad on hand that offer more in depth services as well as any technical questions.

I say Best Buy because it is very trustworthy and the employer's are very nice no lie. Best Buy tells you all the details you need to know. Also they have very good warranties. They also have good warrnties, and be real which place do you go and see perfectly nice people. Be Real.
