I'm thrilled he won it. First time an Indians player has won it in my lifetime. He deserves it despite what many people say.

Well being a Red Sox fan, I mean no offence you you, since you are an Indians fan.
I totally disagree and I'm not happy, because Josh Beckett was the biggest ace in the American League. I'm NOT saying that ace C.C. Sabathia wasn't the biggest threat in the League, but all I'm saying is, Josh Beckett through better in the big games. (I'm not talking about the playoffs.)
Josh Beckett also had more wins, and he also had a HUGE comeback year. He was 11-8 last year, with an ERA over 5 and this year he was 20-7 with an ERA under 3.50. Now I don't know, but I'm just saying that's a lot better than '06.
Again, no offence to Indians' fans, but there's my opinion.

In Boston they are saying that C.C pitched 40 more inning
then Josh Beckett. and that is why they gave it to him.
Josh Beckett got the World
series ring, I am sure he is happy about that I am just wondering
if he had someting in his contract about winning the Cy Young
and getting more money if he was screwed that way or not

He has an excellent shot if he keeps to pitch the way he has on condition that approximately April 30. His era has been coming down with quite plenty each and every initiate- it replaced into over 5 by using his first few starts off. Halladay is going to get an incredible style of votes, if for no different reason than the commerce frenzy that surrounded him final month. Santana did no longer win the award interior the AL in 2007- CC Sabathia did.

Beckett was the first 20 game winner since 2005 and should have won the Cy Young. He won the award he wanted and if he didn't get his Cy Young Award bonus from the Red Sox, he certainly will get his World Series winners' check from MLB.

If you asked any GM in the league who would you rather have an injury proned great pitcher or a great pitcher who remains healthy who would you rather have? They'd go for the healthy one and that is CC Sabathia. There were plenty of guys deserving of the award this year. Dan Haren was in the running for a while until the A's became a minor league team in the majors because of injuries. Sabathia was much more dominant this year and that's why he got it, and it proves that the Cy Young isn't a popularity contest unlike the gold glove awards.

He's lucky they voted before the playoffs, because Beckett proved that he's without a doubt the better the pitcher in games 1 and 5. Look at the stats. What a mismatch! I'm sure Becket's happy with the World Series trophy anyway.

My thoughts are this is the 200th time this question has been asked today. Now I know that its the off-season and nothing else is going on in baseball. But wouldn't a more interesting question be something like... who is going to be the NL Cy Young winner or who will win the MVP awards?
