Just want to know if anyone has this kind of situation....and besides the obvious CON being the commute and cost of.....what would be some ways to make it work?

I've known people traveling that kind of distance to work, and it really only works if you can work at home 1-2 days a week. Since more people are doing this, the Friday night and Sun night/Mon am commutes are horribly crowded. If you can fly into Burbank or Orange County, it would be a little better than facing LAX every week.

Just look at Southwest and US Air on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons. They are packed with people doing just that. I had a position in AZ but was based out of So Cal for a number of years and racked up many many frequent flyer miles. It is not the best life but it can be fun for a couple of years.
