Without a cap...definitely. Look back to 1992, Bonds was the highest paid in MLB at 7 and some change per year. 15 short years later and you see middle of the road players pulling down 7 a year. Taking ARod out of the equation, any given superstar is at the "Manny Line" meaning that they make about 20mil or so per year. If it only took 15 years to triple, then I would easily think that in the next 10-15 years, the top dog will be making 50-60 per year.

Doing the rough math, a billion dollar contract would be paid out over a minimum of 15 years and for a player to be signed for either 20 years at 50mil or 15 years at 66.66 mil seems highly possible within the next 20 years, let alone the next 50 years. These numbers arent going to be the norm though, we'd be talking about the second coming of Ted Williams to see a contract like this.

At some point yes. When the GREEDY owners are making 10 billion a year, then someone will get that contract. Its amazing they keep rising prices and fans keep paying, so sooner or later some team will be worth 10 billion+ and then A ROD JR (or 3rd), will be the 1st billionare!

In 50 years? Yeah probably, take a look at economics 50 years ago - people didn't think they'd see billionires in the business world - now it takes at least a billion to be in the top 400 in the US.

I want a hit every time up, no errors, etc. And they should be required to give so much to charities.

Could happen at the rate they are paying these players.

With inflation, it is a definite possibility and fairly likely.
