These questions are so irritatingly stupid. I'm Canadian and I think Canada's the best country in the world. Your average Brit thinks that the UK is the best country in the world. The French think that France is the best country in the world, Japanese people think that Japan is the greatest... WHY THE **** SHOULD AMERICANS BE ANY DIFFERENT??

I understand that the U.S.'s tacit control over the entertainment industries of most countries is annoying as hell, and you might be sick of hearing about how great life is in the States. OK, sounds like a personal problem. Stop going to American movies and your country will stop importing them. Turn off the news when they talk about the latest bit of idiocy from the States, and your TV stations will stop running those stories. Itr's that simple. Americans have no big claim on nationalism and thinking they're the best, you just hear about it more because the United States' dirty little hands are everywhere. Let it go. For christ's sake, you sound like that eight-year-old kid who gets mad and takes his ball home when he meets someone who can beat him at basketball.

For every one person who does something truly great that calls mankind to a higher standard, there are dozens of conspiracy theorists who want to pretend it didn't happen. Let's begin with the fact that the moon pictures were brought to us from the radio telescope at Parks in Australia so they had to be in on the conspiracy. There was a great deal of anonymity between the Russians and Americans and the Russians were racing the Americans to the moon, a lot was riding on the outcome. The Russians were spying on the Americans and such was the effectiveness of the soviet espionage machinery that the US media learnt about what what their own government was doing from Russian news casts even before they got an Official press release. Let's be serious about the the United States government is so rubbish at keeping secrets they can't hide a romantic indiscretion involving their own president, how on earth would they keep a secret this big under wraps? Now the russians were tracking their every movement, as indeed were radio telescopes all over the world, if they were in orbit their signal would have been quickly triangulated and their deception uncovered. Whilst I admit there is a distinct possibility some of the pictures were faked, the temptation would be very great. If some of the pictures taken very badly by an astronaut who, let's face it, was not a professional photographer and working under less than ideal conditions, took pictures which were a bit of an embarrassment and yet the subject was interesting enough to warrent publication, how tempting would it be to use little creative cut and paste, so that the picture is fit to print in a newspaper or show on TV. I'm sure it went on. However, I have no doubt that the majority of pictures were genuine and that humans did land on the moon and that conspiracy theorists, who lack the talent and the resources to do something monumental with their own lives, leech off the greatness of people who do achieve great things in an attempt to gain a little notoriety for themselves. Oh and have you noticed the flag only waves when it's being handled? When the astronauts are not anywhere near the flag it doesn't wave? Anyway, nicely thought out theory though but I've heard it before. Oh and in defence of Laurel HS, there were several manned missions to the moon, I think six in all but I can't remember precisely, you can contact NASA and ask though, shouldn't be too hard to get the info. These people risked their lives to achieve something truly monumental, come on please let them have the recognition they deserve. John, I see what you mean but I can't rule out the possibilty that he hit the flag as he went past. Great observation though.

The American economy is crashing around their ears.
Even the Canadian dollar is worth more.

America is involved in an illegal war it can't win, in a country that can't be occupied.
The rest of the world is laughing at its "Great Moral Values" and its "efficient" capitalism. Way to be blinded by the rich elite that Actually receive money from the Iraq war; the middle class didn't get weapons contracts, they're dying in your wars, in your private health care system, and in your ghetto's. And it's not George W. Bush that is the problem, its the neo-conservative, far right faction of the Republican party, dedicated to the survival of American hegemony into the 21st Century. George W. Bush is just a charismatic rich figurehead, it is Cheney and Wolfowitz that call the shots.

Turn off CNN and read.

So what's your point? Are we the only people on earth that are proud of our country? Do the laughing people think they have the best country in the world? There are many trying to get in. What do you think they think about America? Oh and by the way, America includes North, South & Central America. There is nothing wrong with being happy with where you live. I live in the Midwest. I also think, for me, it is the best place to live in the United States. Is that funny? If so feel free to laugh. Glad to hear we are spreading so much cheer!

The whole world could laugh but if we offer a plane ticket they would fight over the chance. Do not fool yourself. America is the greatest country in the world ask any child in any country who watches videos, who works long hours who goes to bed hungry.
Who cares?

There are many great things about the U.S. First of all we are a democracy and enjoy more freedom than so many other countries. We are also a melting pot, accepting people of all races. We have some problems, but we are still the greatest country. I hope that our next president is better than George W. Bush.

I don't think America's all that.

I love it to pieces. I was born here. Our country was founded on a better system than most, and in some ways we're more progressive than some European countries.

Despite all that, we still have major problems. I think that if we make the shift towards publicizing rather than privatizing, we'd make a whole lot of progress. I'm also not a fan of the current government.

I'm ALLOWED to criticize the US. I LIVE here. But how can someone living in another country claim to know American soil better than I do who have lived here most of my life. I spent two years in Belgium; does that make me entitled to criticize it? I think not.

You believe we have the greatest country in the world or you wouldn't be so obsessed with us.

**Alle, it's a lot easier to spew bigotry at Americans through the Internet than it is to legally immigrate to our country. You should know that well.

A great number of people want to come here. Some so bad they will risk their lives to do it. Why do you think that is? I think it has turned into a hobby for some people on here to bash Americans. I hope it makes them feel better.

I don't think they are laughing. More likely they are crying because we have it so much better than they do. Our biggest problem is that people are trying to immigrate illegally into the U.S. so they can quit whining and start winning.
