I think with the Yankees.

Fist off, I'm a huge Mike Lowell fan but when he went on the free agent market last night I pretty much figured he's gone. The Yankees love picking up RED SOX cast offs like Damon, Embry, Myers & Bellhorn so it's possible. I don't think the RED SOX should guarantee a 4th year, it's not smart. The Yankees are dumb enough to guarantee him that. Look at 4 years for Posada that's gonna haunt them.

I think there's a possibility that he will end up with the Yankees, but only if they can't get Cabrera. I remember Lowell first coming up with the Yankees in 1998, you could tell he was going to be a good player. The Yankees had no room for him, as Scott Brosius was playing third, but it was still hard to see him go. I'd welcome him, as it not only would help the Yankees, but also hurt the Red Sox, taking a quality bat and good clubhouse guy away from them.

I normally think Ballzy knows what he's talking about, but he sure doesn't here. The Yankees are not "inept" when it comes to Posada. Yes, he is 36, but he doesn't have the milage of other older catchers. Posada was originally a second baseman in the minors, the Yankees made him a catcher. Also, he didn't become the Yankees full-time catcher until his fourth season, so he doesn't have the wear and tear of other catchers like Ivan Rodriguez, or Jason Varitek, whose best days as a hitter are clearly behind them. If the Yankees didn't offer him four years, there are other teams like the Mets who would have. Posada is a key member of the Yankees, if they had lost him, they'd be done. It was a good move, not inept. He is not showing signs of wear and tear, and the plan is for him to play DH the last couple of years.

Also, Rivera was recently offered a three-year contract, not four. He had five bad games last year, which is why his ERA was over 3. As much as Boston fans think they own him, he had six saves against them last season after blowing one in April. The Yankees are making wise moves now. If they were "inept", then pitchers like Hughes, Chamberlain, and Kennedy would already be gone.

You are right on. A HUGE reason why the Yanks aren't goin after A-Rod is because Lowell would be a much better fit. Mike is comin back to his first team, the Bronx Bombers. As a Yankee fan, I hope badly he becomes a Yankee. Lowell is the class of the Red Sox. It'll be a huge blow if the Sox lose him, especially if it's to the Yankees.

I've been saying all along as it pertains to the Red Sox, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"! Boston needs to re-sign Lowell. Pay him want he wants. Whatever that figure is, it won't be anything near the money A-Rod would demand. Lowell is a leader and a great teammate. A-Rod is not.

The Sox shouldn't do anything to disrupt the chemistry of a championship team.

I hope Theo heard the cries of about a million Red Sox fans at the parade last month. Sign Mike Lowell.

I HOPE NOT!!! Nothing personal he's a great guy! But this yankee fan don't want anymore of boston's leftovers.I want Cabrera alot of people compare Cabrera's offensive abilities to a young Ramirez. And if we sign lowell i know boston will get Cabrera,If we can't get him,i would like to see the yankees get Tejada! I'm hoping Boston signs Lowell for another 4 yrs!

I want him to stay with the Sox but if he goes to the Yankees that will be fine with me too. The Yankees just gave a 36 year old 50 million and are on the verge of doing the same with Rivera. If they give Lowell 50 million too it just shows how pathetically inept they are. You would think that 7 years of nothing would make them change their ways but I guess not.

I don't think he's going to the Yankees I'm going to say he's going to the Whitesox because the White Sox are trading Crede to the Yankees.

I'm really hoping he'll stay with the Red Sox. I think if Theo offers him a 4th year as an option he'll stay. Come on Theo, do the right thing! I will say this though, if Mikey does go to the Yanks, it wont burn as much as Damon did.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was to play for the Yankees next year.
