NPR and PBS viewers/listeners have been shown by studies to have the most accurate knowledge of world affairs, such as the lack of a link between Sadaam and Al Qaeda. Fox News viewers (many of whom are also Rush listeners) were the most uninformed in this respect.
If NPR has a liberal bias, perhaps Stephen Colbert was right when he said "Reality has a well-known liberal bias."

As for why conservatives listen to the likes of Rush and O'Reilly despite their lack of accurate information and intelligent content, it's because these programs allow them to live in their own little conservative world. They can simply nod in agreement when Rush goes on his daily rant about how liberals hate America, secure in the comfort that their ideals must be the right ones, because someone on TV or radio is saying the same thing, and very loudly!
Quite simply, conservatives want the world to be conservative. When they see a right-wing propaganda "news" program claiming to be "fair and balanced", it creates the perception that the world is as they want it to be. I'm sure it's a comforting state of denial.

The fact that Rush has more listeners than NPR isn't surprising at all. Intelligent people like hearing the truth and are insulted when someone lies to them. Rush's popularity is based on him being truthful and reflecting what most people think already after making their own informed observations. The leftists wish with all their hearts that it wasn't true, which is why they are so vocal about their hatred of him.. Here's a thought to ponder. When is the last time you heard of anyone criticising Air America? Probably never, because nobody really cares about Air America. They are insignificant. The liberals don't think Limbaugh is insignificant though, do they?

Myself.. I like Rush and I have learned a ton from him, but mu choice for liberal slander is Sean Hannity, and the odd time Mark Levin.
Liberals hate to have the truth put in front of them, and that's why they hope the fairness doctrine is passed. That would be the only way a socialist, liberal talk show would actually stay on the air. Because once again the left would force liberalism into a market that is it is not welcome.
Welcome to the Liberal propaganda network. On today....
From 8 am to noon :
How we will empty your wallet into the government coffers so that the libs have more money for mind controlling socialist programs.
From Noon till 6pm:
Marxism and socialism 101. A listen and learn program made straight for your benefit.
6pm News:
Only things that benefits the left and will convince you your wrong.. let us take care of you
7pm to Midnight:
Global warming: just because we fly in big jets and use more fuel in one hour then the rush hour of Chicago, you need to save the planet.
Special report from AL Gore: The discoverer of the internet, and noble price winner for something he knows nothing about and practices scare tactics to gain power and lives in a house that consumes more energy than a small stamping plant.
Tomorrow: whatever moveon.org allows us to broadcast.

i haven't listened to him in 5 years, ever on the grounds that satellite tv for pc radio grew to grow to be obtainable. I not often hear all and sundry ever sounding like hitler on the radio, yet on yahoo solutions it form of feels to me it somewhat is often the left that likes in charge the worlds issues on Israel, yet however, i'm no longer getting your assessment to hitler. Hitler replaced right into a large government, gun grabbing socialist, and carried out quite some courses that contemplated FDR's New Deal, and actual have been given quite some compliment from FDR and the Democrats of the day for doing so.

The NPR is a Liberal news cast, and so are the majority of Actors, writers ect. The problem with you all is that you cant stand facts, and you tend to say and then do something completly different--kinda like Hillary Clinton..

I like how the Rush groupies will use popularity to give Rush credit, yet ignore the popular disapproval rating against Bush and the overwhelming lead Hillary has in the polls. Typical Con rhetoric, just ignore what makes you look like an idiot and cherry pick the rest.

I think it can best be explained by a quote from The Simpsons:
"Your guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic, but deep down inside you secretly long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king."
People are just giving in and listen/watch because they can't express publicly these opinions or think it's wrong to say or think but still secretly do.

Soooo TRUE.
People who listen to Rush get premature heart attacks...
These are your road-rage republicans - they are 1 Red Bull away from an Office Space Columbine...
NPR is far more cultured and intelligent... but even NPR can get tedious with the war coverage... its like, yeah... we know... everything sucks... moving along now...

without intelligence, countries fall apart, like the u.s. is, and its real sad. liberalism is now a religion, never used to be, and most people don't want it. I do not have a radio, to listen to rush. so I watch the oreilly factor, I don't agree with everything bill say's but at least he bring it out into the open, because people always need to know both sides of the issue. we cannot be one sided. especially on the evil side. so I think bill is fair and balanced. and I watch him everytime he's on. before I only listened to local news, bill provides issue's that your local media dose not talk about in depth. and most of the media, dosen't want you to hear the other side of issue's, only what they want you to hear. so thank God for bill!!!!!

people like scandalous, loud, abrasive current topics thats why tmz and perez hilton are so popular. i even listen to them just so i can hear topical political stuff. I hate rush limbaugh, hannity, and savage but they are entertaining in the way that they always wine and cry and lie. BUT I WOULD LISTEN TO AIR AMERICA ANY TIME OVER THEM!!!
